I have just finished reading a book called Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. It's set in the Appalachian region of the USA in the 50s and 60s and is the story of a girl who raises herself in the marshland after her family abandons her. It recounts her relationship with the local townsfolk and it involves a suspicious death. It's beautifully written. I always need reading recommendations so please feel free to leave me a list if you want!
