Singing For Lung Health Training Course
A training course to enable singing group leaders and music therapists to start and run their own singing for lung health groups.
The Singing For Lung Health Training Course is run by The Cheyne Gang and currently takes place over 2 days split between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The Cheyne Gang - Sing to Breathe, was founded by three General Practice Nurses (GPNs) in 2013. Our aim was to improve the quality of life of our patients living with long term lung disease. We teach natural, reflexive breathing techniques to aid breathlessness and put this into practice through singing. We currently have six groups across the Central Belt and the Borders and the aim of this training course is to increase the number of groups across Scotland
This Singing for Lung Health Training is the only one of its kind in Scotland. We use a hybrid approach and offer seventeen hours of learning covering physiology, breathing and the voice, facilitated by experts in these areas.
Our Singing for Lung Health course is a Unique training opportunity for singing group leaders.
